How to get back to nature
After what seems like the longest 18 months in living memory, now is the time to get outside and start living again! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and we are starting to mix with family, and friends again.
Even ‘cautious hugging’ is back on the agenda, which will be a huge relief to parents and grandparents across the UK who have not been able to embrace their children since Christmas because of social distancing restrictions.
So, with people getting out and about again, here are our top tips for getting the best out of nature.
GET IN THE GARDENIf you’re planning on entertaining at home in the weeks ahead, then getting your garden in order is essential.
Whether you’re looking for a complete overhaul and redesign to create the ideal outdoor space or just a simple clean up to make the best of what you’ve got and get things looking neat, tidy and welcoming, then now’s the time to make a start.
It’s amazing what a little bit of sprucing up can do to improve the overall appearance of your garden and create the perfect outdoor entertaining space.
ENJOYING THE COUNTRYSIDEWhether you’re looking to enjoy a picnic with friends, a ramble through nature with the kids or a romantic couple’s stroll, nothing beats getting out into the countryside.
Walking not only gives you the chance to reconnect with nature and get some fresh, unpolluted air into your lungs, it’s also a great way to top up your natural Vitamin D levels.
Just don’t forget the sunscreen… and keep some warm clothes handy in case the weather turns.
CARRY ON CAMPINGThe restrictions on holidaying in the UK have been lifted, meaning that many self-contained holiday accommodation providers have reopened just in time for summer.
Camping and caravanning make an ideal getaway. Campsites across the UK are now taking bookings for the rest of the year and if you fancy something more spontaneous, simply head off on a road trip with your camping gear in tow.
Just remember to stay safe, consider the environment and follow the Country Code.
BREAK THE CYCLEThey may have sat in the shed gathering dust and rust for the past 12 months, but now’s the perfect time to get the bikes out and go for a trek.
Cycling is a great way to maintain your fitness but is also good for taking a leisurely trip through the countryside to check out the landscapes.
Just remember to stay safe, wear your helmet and take care on the roads.
DINING AL FRESCOThe hospitality trade has been hit hard this past year, with most venues being forced to close their doors and furlough their staff.
Now, with pubs, bars and restaurants welcoming their customers back, there’s never been a better time to support your local by popping out for a bite to eat, or a cheeky pint or prosecco.
Many venues have invested heavily in their outdoor facilities and social distancing measures to keep their customers safe.
So, with the sunny weather returning, there’s no excuse not to indulge in a bit of al fresco dining at your favourite eatery or some outdoor socialising over a few drinks with friends.
STAYING HEALTHY AS RESTRICTIONS START TO LIFTWhatever you plan to do this summer, whether it’s entertaining at home, heading to the coast, getting out in the countryside or even hitting a gig or festival, staying safe and healthy is essential.
Guidelines on hygiene and social contact will still be in place for some time yet, and it’s important to take all the steps necessary to help prevent the spread of coronavirus – even if you’ve been vaccinated.
Getting plenty of exercise and eating a balanced diet will help you stay healthy and ward off any bugs or infections. However, making sure you get enough vitamins and minerals and giving your immune system a natural boost is vital.
At Lily & Loaf, we have a wide range of natural supplements to help you get the nutrients you need. We also have products to keep your children and pets healthy too.
